Job Summary:
The Director of Shell Construction will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all residential shell construction projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in residential shell construction, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety. The Director will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all phases of shell construction projects from inception to completion.
Develop and implement construction strategies, schedules, and budgets.
Maintain internal tracking of all jobs through the company software.
Oversee project teams, including project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
Conduct regular site visits and audits to monitor progress and quality of work.
Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors.
Qualify suppliers and equipment providers to ensure product integrity.
Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
Drive continuous improvement in construction processes and techniques.
Interviews and recruits’ construction team.
Enforces upper management directives and resolves miscellaneous problems.
Ability to effectively manage staff through ensuring appropriate staffing, providing formal and informal evaluations/feedback, addressing associate issues when warranted and providing appropriate training and mentoring.
Work closely with the construction team to ensure open communication on all matters; develop a strong environment conducive to proactive resolution of issues and strong commitment to producing a quality product.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in residential shell construction
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in directing and supervising construction staff
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in construction management software and tools.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Licensed in the state of Florida preferred but not required.
Salary:
$150-200k depending on experience plus quarterly and annual bonus.
